Peter Gould, VT Author

peter-with-mooseGreen Writers Press author Peter Gould will lead the Writers Lounge on Thursday, November 2nd, from 6:00-8:00.
Peter’s first novel, a utopian commune fantasy called Burnt Toast, was published by Alfred A. Knopf in 1971. Peter’s commune memoir Horse-Drawn Yogurt: Stories from Total Loss Farm was published in 2017 by Green Writers Press. He’s back with fantasy again in 2017, completing Seed Man, a dystopian story set in a future earth where most of the men are infertile. He’ll talk with us about how to construct imaginary worlds in fiction, how to deal with time and space and characters who you know couldn’t possibly exist but you have to make them real anyway.

Chard deNiord, Poet Laureate of Vermont

Book Lounge this Thursday, September 21st, Dede’s guest will be Vermont state poet laureate, Chard DeNiord. YES! We are all looking forward to Chard’s guest slot and he may give us a writing prompt for poetry (but prose is fine, too). Chard is a fabulous poet, a professor, a scholar, and you can read about his accomplishments here (he is one of the nicest people and humble)… We hope he reads some of his work. . .

Tonight at Book Lounge: T Stores!

T Stores is the author of three novels (Getting to the Point, SideTracks, and Backslide) and a collection of short fiction, Frost Heaves, which is forthcoming from Green Writers’ Press. Her fourth novel, Ten Types of Women, is slated for publication later in 2018. Her work has appeared in Sinister Wisdom, Harrington Literary Quarterly, Rock & Sling, Cicada, Out Magazine, Blithe House, Oregon Literary Review, Bloom Magazine, Rock & Sling, Earth’s Daughters, Blueline, SawPalm, Kudzu, Fourth Genreand Minerva Rising, among others. Honors include grants from the Vermont Arts Council and Barbara Deming Fund, residencies at Bread Loaf, Squaw Valley, and Shiro Oni, and a Pushcart Prize nomination. A graduate of the M.F.A. program at Emerson College, she is Associate Professor and Associate Dean at the University of Hartford.
